Everyone is welcome to join us for any of our acts of worship.

Our chapel is also available for private prayer and quiet reflection when not in use.
If you would like to book a baptism, wedding or funeral, or arrange to have your wedding banns read, please contact our stewards here.

There is a prayer board outside the Chapel where requests for prayers can be left. These requests are used during our Friday prayers and included in our Sunday worship . Prayer requests can also be sent to our stewards here.

Can I speak to the minister, please?

At the moment, we do not have a minister working at the Church at the Centre.  We are currently in the process of appointing someone to the post, but this will take a while.  In the meantime, the Church at the Centre will continue to worship as normal, and all are welcome.  Any enquiries about baptisms, weddings, funerals and wedding banns will be handled by our stewards, who can be contacted here or on 01695 725014.

The Church at the Centre

The Church at the Centre is a United Christian Congregation representing and supported by the Church of England, The Methodist Church, The United Reformed Church and the Baptist Church. The Congregation began meeting in Hillside School almost 40 years ago and transferred to the Ecumenical Centre building when it opened in 1973.

Although we represent a number of Christian traditions we worship together as one congregation.

Our purpose is:

·    To accept and respond together our calling to be the presence of Christ in the world

·    To express together the presence of Christ through love, words, prayer, worship and action

·    To celebrate and explore together our shared beliefs and differences within the love of Christ

·    To seek to be Christ’s presence in our local communities and in Skelmersdale
